Partner Event - WAVEx Webinar - Mitigating Heat Stress

Description

Markus Keller of Washington State University will share results from field trials testing the use of undervine foggers and of supplemental irrigation before or during heat waves. He will discuss impacts on vine growth, yield, fruit composition, and water use. Lav Khot from WSU’s AgWeatherNet will present the implementation of AWN Smart Farms for sensor-guided heat stress management. He will also highlight smartphone and weather-guided web tools available within AWN to help growers with effectively mitigating heat stress. Washington Advancements in Viticulture and Enology is the Washington State Wine Commission's seminar and webinar series focused on grape and wine research. WAVEx is the condensed, shorter webinar format. Washington State University is a co-sponsor of the WAVE and WAVEx events.
